• 1 Road Safety in Montenegro

    Podgorica, March 22, 2018

    ISSP representatives participated at the event on the road safety organized by the UN System in Montenegro. The event gathered representatives of various national institutions and organisations working on road safety to jointly analyse innovative concept called “Social Impact Bond”. The concept aims at reducing deaths and injuries on the road through mobilizing innovative public instruments for funding interventions which would increase traffic security in Montenegro. ISSP representatives presented main findings of the road safety assessment in the country prepared under this UN initiative.

  • 2 ISSP researchers participated at Vienna Workshop on Economic Forecasting

    Vienna, February 15-16, 2018

    In cooperation with KOF Swiss Economic Institute, ISSP researchers Vojin Golubovic and Milika Mirkovic presented paper The Montenegrin Macroeconomic Forecasting Model at Vienna Workshop on Economic Forecasting which was hosted by Institute for Advance Studies in Vienna on 15-16 February 2018. Paper is result of the project that ISSP conducts in cooperation with Swiss institute.

  • 3 ISSP researchers participated at MENSEC 2017

    Podgorica, October 19th, 2017

    On 19th October 2017, Jadranka Kaludjerovic presented paper Synchronization of business cycle in region countries and Turkey at Mediterranean Natural Sciences and Engineering Congress (MENSEC 2017) which was hosted by University of Donja Gorica from 19 to 22 October 2017. The main theme was Scientific Cooperation and Science Diplomacy in Mediterranean Basin. Congress was organized by University of Donja Gorica, Yildirim Beyazit University, Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, International University of Sarajevo, Necmettin Erbakan University and Manisa Celal Bayar University.

  • 4 ISSP researchers at KOF institute

    Zurich, October 16-20,  2017

    Under the project Increasing Analytical Capacities of ISSP, which ISSP is conducting in cooperation with KOF Institute from Zurich since 2015, four ISSP researchers spent one week at KOF as a visiting researchers. The aim of the visit was improvement of macroeconomic projections and defining the next steps within the project.

  • 5 Igor Kilibarda discussed at 22nd Milocer Development Forum

    Cetinje, September 13th,  2017

    Association of Economists and Managers of Montenegro, in cooperation with university of Donja Gorica and Baltic Management Development Association organized the twenty second Milocer Regional Development Forum in the period  12-13 September 2017 in Hotel “Grand” in Cetinje. The topic of this year’s forum was: “Vision and Actions on Jointly Building Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”. Representative of the ISSP, Mr. Igor Kilibarda discussed about Chinese investments in the world.

  • 6 ISSP received Gratitude from BMDA

    ISSP received Gratitude from Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) for being the partner of the 15th Annual BMDA Conference “You Don’t Have to Be Big to Be Successful”. The Conference was organized at University of Donja Gorica on 26-28 April 2017. Representatives of ISSP participated in the Conference.

  • 7 Press conference: Projections of Montenegrin macroeconomic trends

    Podgorica, April 24th, 2017

    Researchers from ISSP and KOF Institute presented the first forecasts of macroeconomic trends of Montenegro. The key speakers at the conference were Jadranka Kaludjerovic, director of ISSP, Vojin Golubovic researcher and researcher from KOF Institute Michale Graff and Yngve Abrahamsen. Projected GDP growth rate for 2017 is 4.1%.

  • 8 National Conference on the Future of Work

    National Conference on the Future of Work was organized on 5 May 2017 by the ILO and Social Council of Montenegro, with support of the University of Montenegro and United Nations in Montenegro. Conference was focused on the future of labour relations and the future of youth employment and achievement of SDG8. Director of ISSP, Jadranka Kaludjerovic spoke about youth employment and unemployment.

  • 9 Laguna Heritage Cluster on a study visit to Slovenia

    Members of Laguna Heritage Tourism Cluster have visited Slovenia in order to learn about best practices in tourism clustering and tourism branding, including Ljubljana Tourism Organization, Ljubljana Open Kitchen, Dobrote Dolenjske, Jarina, Adventure park Geoss.

  • 10 LSE Conference “Social Cohesion and Economic Governance”

    Skopje, April 6-7, 2017

    London School of Economics Research Network on Social Cohesion in SEE has organized 3rd Conference – “Social Cohesion and Economic Governance”. Three researchers of ISSP have participated in the conference and presented their research papers on education and labour market.   • 11 Attract Danube

    Within The Danube Transnational Cooperation Programme, ISSP has started implementation of project Attract Danube, in cooperation with 10 European project partners from Danube Region, aiming at strengthening the influence on territorial development, regional development, business and tourism by setting up the capacity building activities and participation processes of relevant stakeholders.

  • 12 Laguna Heritage Tourism Cluster

    Within the IPA framework, ISSP is implementing a project  called Laguna Heritage Tourism Cluster, aiming to promote cooperation between several tourism providers from Montenegro and bring together a joint tourism product to the tourism market of Montenegro. Within the project, a Workshop with all the stakeholders was organized, with expertize of Slovenian Nativa Institute, on 03.02.2017, where the examples of good practices and ideas for future collaboration of identified cluster were discussed.

Projects in focus

EUROMODE

ISSP started to work on MNMOD, a microsimulation tax and social contributions model. This model may present a powerful tool for fiscal and social policy decisions and for ex-ante analysis of the macroeconomic and microeconomic effects of a potential tax reforms. The idea is that MNMOD is compatible with the EUROMOD, the model that is used in the EU as well as similar models developed in other countries from the region (such as Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia). ISSP researchers participated; up to know, in three workshops organized by ISER/University of Essex (United Kingdom).
