This project examined health and safety at work and the role of the labour inspectorates. It analyses, in particular, the state of play in health and safety at work, including sectoral breakdown and recent trends. It also aimed to answer who is mostly affected by accidents, work-related health problems and occupational diseases, as well as to analyze institutional and policy framework relevant for health and safety at work, including sanctions and prevention measures. The institutional capacity, key performance indicators, competencies and functioning of labour inspectorates were analysed in the context of health and safety at work and beyond.
