The Economics Olympiad, the largest international competition in economics and finance for high school students, is now coming to Montenegro. This prestigious initiative aims to enhance economic and financial literacy, foster critical thinking, and provide students with essential skills for making informed decisions in an increasingly complex global economy.
What is the Economics Olympiad?
Launched in 2016 in the Czech Republic, the Economics Olympiad has rapidly grown to include over 350,000 participants from more than 25 countries. In 2023 alone, over 77,000 students from 18 nations took part, making it the leading competition of its kind. The Olympiad provides students with a challenging yet rewarding experience, enabling them to develop a deeper understanding of economics through theoretical and practical problem-solving tasks.
The competition consists of three levels:
School Level – Schools organize an internal selection of students through an online test.
National Level – The top-performing students compete at the national finals.
International Final – The most successful participants represent their country and compete against students from across the world.
