The Institute for Strategic Studies and Projections (ISSP) is pleased to announce that applications for the Economics Olympiad 2026 are now open for all high-schools in Montenegro.
The Economics Olympiad is far more than a competition — it is an educational initiative aimed at strengthening economic and financial literacy among young people, encouraging critical thinking, and nurturing a new generation of economically aware and socially responsible citizens. Through this programme, ISSP seeks to inspire students to engage with real-world economic questions, understand the role of individuals in a market economy, and develop skills that will be valuable both in further education and future careers.
By participating in the Olympiad, schools gain an opportunity to enrich their educational offer, complement existing curricula, and motivate students through an interactive and intellectually stimulating format. The programme supports teachers and school coordinators in creating a learning environment that goes beyond traditional classroom teaching, fostering curiosity, analytical thinking, and debate on key economic and societal issues.
For students, the Economics Olympiad represents a unique chance to broaden their horizons, build confidence, and develop skills that will be useful for their future studies and careers. Participants develop not only knowledge of economics and finance, but also problem-solving skills, teamwork, and the ability to think critically about complex challenges. The experience also connects young people with peers from across the region and beyond, opening doors to new perspectives and networks.
The programme is implemented within the framework of the international Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI), in cooperation with the University of Donja Gorica (UDG). It is part of a broader effort to promote financial responsibility, informed decision-making, and long-term economic thinking among youth in Montenegro.
Encouraged by the enthusiasm and commitment shown by students and schools in previous years, ISSP invites all interested high-schools to join this year’s Olympiad and contribute to building a stronger culture of economic literacy in the country.

Schools can apply through the official registration link. Additional information on preparation materials, timelines, and competition format will be shared with all registered participants.
