Workshop Brings Together Economics Teachers to Strengthen Financial Literacy Education

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen economic knowledge and financial literacy among young people in Montenegro, the Institute for Strategic Studies and Prognoses (ISSP) organized a two-day workshop for high school economics teachers from across the country. The workshop was held within the framework of activities supported by the Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI) and brought together 20 teachers representing secondary schools from different municipalities.

The workshop provided a platform for participants to explore contemporary approaches to economics education and exchange experiences on how economic concepts can be taught in ways that are relevant, engaging, and applicable to students’ everyday lives.

The programme covered a range of topics, including motivating young learners, innovative teaching methodologies, gamification in education, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in the classroom. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, participants gained new knowledge, shared experiences, and explored tools that can contribute to improving the quality of economics teaching.

The workshop forms part of ISSP’s broader activities aimed at strengthening economics education and promoting financial literacy in Montenegro. By investing in teachers’ professional development and encouraging the exchange of innovative teaching practices, the programme seeks to enhance students’ understanding of economic concepts and support the development of skills that are increasingly important in today’s society.

ISSP extends its sincere appreciation to the workshop lecturers - Jadranka Kaluđerović, Milica Vukotić, Maja Drakić Grgur, and Nenad Vujadinovićfor sharing their expertise and contributing to a dynamic and engaging programme. ISSP also thanks all participating teachers for their active engagement, valuable contributions, and commitment to advancing economics education for future generations.
